Fire Alarms in Buildings (2.0)

That would make sense. It has a very “Firecom” style, but I’ve never seen anything quite like it. I actually never knew they made any panels besides the LSN-2000, 8500, and 8000.

Its not getting replaced anytime soon

Okay so we don’t need to worry about it for awhile

It’s Comtrak I think. We won’t know for sure until wei gets here. (I summoned him) But it caused me to crash so it’s definitely promising.

I once went to a school that had those as well (likely as intercom speakers since the fire alarm signals were horn/strobes).

No idea: heck what’s that doing there if the school has a much more modern system in place? (neat though, & definitely another device that should be saved)

Yeah. Neither did I actually.

Yeah, but what if something happens to it or the building it’s in during that time?

Sadly, this deltanet system was replaced, NFS2-3030 Rebranded by honeywell.

You say “used to be”, but most of the original devices are still there at least (you oughta see if they can be saved!). Odd how that one SelecTone + VALS has ceiling-mount lettering & interesting-looking 4050-series variant too (not only different “FIRE ALARM” lettering but no branding anywhere either).

Like the above system, the original panel may not be there anymore, but at least a lot of the rest of the original system is (those dual-action S464As are neat too, & again: another system worth saving for sure! (though I would say that any is regardless of anything, heh).

Yeah, i really wanna salvage the system, but i live 2 hours away from that hotel, 15% chance if i would go. The federal signal alarms are now on a 4100es system. Its still in use! So very, very rare chance i will get them.

That is a Comtrak 2000 Panel designed in the early 90s replacing the Comtrak 1720 panel, nothing related to Firecom this was before the Casey System Merge with Firecom around 2008 they could communicate with EST2/3 and ESA panels through a card which would allow you to run EST addressable devices.

Was pretty much state of the art then for NYC, no matter the size of the building the panel setup would be exactly the same size and didnt require additional modules since you entered the floor number you want to choose to control through its keypad and colored crt display system.

Seen that install many times its at the Millennium Downtown Hotel near the WTC complex and was installed when the place opened in 92 and is still in service today.

System restart complete.

That’s definitely a find for the books in that case. Not as rare as the 8500, but still.

Oh: had no idea that Comtrak had nothing to do with Firecom. Still worth saving for sure though.

Randomnicious, please, enough with the “crashing”: you’re just making unnecessary & unrelated posts on this topic.

damn @Randomnicious carson aint playin around

Okay I’ll stop. Sorry about that, @TheCarson116. I have deleted those posts.

A surprisingly varied amount of smoke detectors in that building. Any idea what’s with multiple in the same spot though?
