That’s just stupid, Remember pros and cons. Which has more, the pros, or the cons? the cons
Today we had a fire drill during 6th period (My agriculture class.) My school seems to have stopped doing the one building evacuation procedure that I described in a previous post on this thread (Although they still do delayed evacuations.) Also there is only one outdoor fire alarm device, which is an EST WG4 series on the outside of the new building (Which my ag class was located in,) which was extremely loud.
So my school has a Siemens MXL(?) installed in 2020 replacing a simplex 4120 with trualearts. the new system has a custom voice evac.

That is almost certainly not an MXL. It is most likely either a Modular system or an FV922/924 system. You can tell by what the annunciator looks like.
If the annunciator looks like this (or similar), it’s a Modular system:

Today (9/30/25) we had yet another false alarm at my school. This is the second one so far this year. I heard that dust from one of the shop classes apparently triggered a smoke detector.
Well, that sucks. Today was the day my grandpa passed away 5 years ago today. Tomorrow is my parents 15th anniversary
Ok, i just had the weirdest fire drill ever. So my school system is a siemens modular system, so when i saw the speaker strobes go off, i only saw the strobes go off, i faintly heard the outdoor speakers go off, but not the inside and 30 seconds later, the indoor speakers start going off, very weird. And the tone sounded faintly off, a slower code 3 tone. And the message also sounded slower.
That’s definitely weird. They should get that looked at. One of the amplifiers is likely having issues. The most speaker delay I’ve ever seen with the Modular system at my school was just a few seconds. Usually, the speakers actually start around a second before the strobes.
UPDATE: Apparently, it wasn’t a smoke detector triggered by dust. It was revealed today that a student actually pulled the alarm.
just had one as well, i asked to do this one the day of. Princapal didnt know it was happening soon she heard on the radio, she was gonna grab me, but too late, alarm went off.
Nice! What are the A/Vs?
4903-9237’s along with some newer simplex speakers
nice! 4100? Or 4100ES
4010ES. Actually, The building was built in 2000
What’s the EVAC panel? 4003 or 4003EC?
I think its a 4003EC. I’m not entirely sure
Makes sense, the 4003EC is newer along with the 4010ES
Today during 6th period there was an announcement that people were working on the fire alarms and to disregard if it goes off. The fire alarms never went off.
We had that announcement many times last year, as it was a new building and they were still finishing areas and adding the FA devices in those areas. Funnily enough, the alarm never went off when they made those announcements, although we had over 10 false alarms last year with only one from a pull station.
It happens. One day, when I was in 3rd grade, the fire alarms went off unexpectedly! It was raining outside, so we never evacuated. The alarm had a malfunction IN the classroom I was in. I noticed that the red light on the detector was solid red, so I knew somethin’ was up. The alarms kept going and going off. Man, that building was older than my mom herself. well the actual building was built in 1884. But moved in the 1970’s. I have some pictures of the alarms. It went off for like 15 minutes. They finally shut it off. The 9237’s, and a bit of the truealerts, got in my head. They said to disregard the alarms, but they never went off again. I’m assuming they had put on silent walk test, but there were speaker strobes on the system lol. They probably kept saying, "Testing… Channel 1 Device… ### It happened again in 5th grade. I was in the cafeteria, eating my PB&J, lol, and all the sudden, the 4904-9137’s started flashing and then on the big speakers in the front of the stage, I’ll edit this and drop a picture down below (there were also speakers all around me lol) It sounded like I was in the movie theater when it goes, all around you.
