fire drill done, the 9237 that was near me was very quiet, i imagine it getting replaced real soon.
My school was hosting my states speech tournament final today. Hundreds of students (and their parents, teachers, and coaches) from around the state were in the building. At 9:20 AM (10 minutes before the start), the fire alarm in the building was triggered. I know someone who was helping out with the event, so that’s how I know about it. The hundreds of people had to evacuate the building, and had to wait outside until the fire department gave the all clear.
I’m not sure what caused it, but considering that there were hundreds of people (including kids) in the building, and that the system has had no issues since the last time they did maintenance on it over 6 months ago, I’m thinking that someone probably pulled the alarm just to cause some chaos and confusion.
