Kid gets arrested for lifting a stopper cover.

You see a “ton” of people doing this? Amazing I think I have seen it once in my entire life. Secondly, that would be the POINT of the cover…

If someone is there to actually pull the alarm for an emergency the instructions are pretty clear, and pretty self explanatory that you are to pull the device behind the clear protective cover.

Sorry, I misworded it.

I’ve seen plenty of kids in videos who think that they are activating the alarm, but actually lift the cover.

I have also seen kids at my school who think that the fire alarm system has been activated when a kid bumps into a Stopper cover and it sounds.

Kids being the key word  How many people bump into them anyway?

In all the buildings I have been in, I have never needed to walk so closely to a wall that I slam into a pull station cover so violently that I knock it off the wall… They should consider giving you kids a lesson on how to walk

Around 4 times that year (that I saw). Their reactions are funny.

Most of the time, it is kids standing to close to the wall with their backpacks on. A kid also turned on the eye wash (the bottom portion that looks like a water fountain) with his backpack while blowing his nose.

This is what happens when teachers let kids stand by the door at the end of class before the bell rings.

I never saw anybody lift a stopper cover, but a few years ago in high school, one of the covers were knocked loose and I could hear the piezo.

I’ve never seen anyone lift a stopper cover, however I have heard the local horn from them at all the schools I went to that had them when they had been lifted.

Somebody has tried on the first day of my 9th grade year.

I have seen MANY stopper II activations and one pull station activations, I think the most recent was when my PE class was playing dodgeball and my friend got hit by the ball and almost fell and tried using the Stopper as something to hold her up and instead pulled it and my PE teacher couldn’t silence it so they had to call the Janitor to fix it. And the pull station one was where my other friend (which is now in Positive Behavior Support) got mad and pulled the pull station in the hallway and the ENTIRE school evacuated, I think she was just fined for it. And another good Stopper story for me was in the 1st grade when my teachers very loose like blouse got caught in the lift part and when she walked forward she pulled it and I think I was the only one who wasn’t covering my ears, it wasn’t very loud anyways.

Does it depend on what the situation is when you pull a false alarm to how you get punished? Like I know that some kids are fined but some are arrested.

It probably depends. I would think that kids who pull false alarms repeatedly would more likely be arrested than a kid who just does it once.
