Interesting how it doesn’t have the microphone, just the tapes and the thick-looking fire telephone. Also weren’t these in a old Fire-Lite catalog in the 80s?
i think. but im fairly certain thats just the fire phone and tape side of things and the microphone and speaker circuit select is below in another cabinet. because you can see another cabinet below. Cpv-90’s most commonly were run in a two cab setup, one for fire phone and one for PA

The CPV-90 was indeed originally an Electrovox product which indicates the multiple companies using the same exact design
The “Earlier” Units used tape based messaging while later ones used what’s called the DMU-1 which had a rotary dial on the back of the unit with numbers 1-4 that indicated different messages. I had photos of a DMU-1 i saw on eBay awhile back but i have to find them again. That was how I found the message selector switch
