Rare Smoke Detectors

Oh? Alright, neat.

Oh? Hmm…is the 709 the battery version of the 706?

GUYS I JUST FOUND A 79DCRI WITH A TRANSMITTER

And what’s even better… is that I FOUND TWO!!

Y’all are probably gonna like this
318 N Churton St, Hillsborough, NC 27278

I don’t exactly know.

Dang, nice job!

Oh, alright. How do you know about the 709 to begin with actually? (since all I’ve ever known is the 706)

They look similar to the 706 however there’s I think a woodgrain version.

Oh yeah, there is: I’ve actually been confusing it with the 206, my bad, heh.

Those DCRI’s are found, and they aren’t that rare. Also please stop pinging me!

You can stop with the pings. I’ve been out of this dump of a community for a long time and y’all still ping me thinking I’m gonna respond. Plus, literally pinging people constantly to get their attention is just rude. I don’t care what happens to me here as I’m in my own path.

Listen, guys, let me be clear. I’m sorry that I made everyone feel that way. I did not mean at all to negatively influence the motivation for you guys to livestream and honestly I’d say keep up the effort. It’s totally respectable if you go your own way as well, that’s good.

As for me not realizing that a lot of stuff was already found, I can’t use Discord at the moment, therefore I can’t easily tell what was found by someone else and what wasn’t. I love watching the streams (like said) but sometimes I can’t because I’m busy with homework or school-related stuff. Again, I’m not trying to be rude or anything.

As for the pinging, I’m sorry but I only did this because I have no other place to send stuff to as I have said that I don’t have Discord (well, I have an account but haven’t touched it in years). I’ll stop with the pings I promise.

I wouldn’t say it’s that bad (sheesh honestly), but alright.

It technically is, along with non-home-find detectors, but residential home-find ones are all anyone active on here posts at present.

In any case, don’t harass &/or ping members who don’t want to be, but don’t overreact to “incidents” like this either just the same.

That’s another thing I was about to say: I never saw the day when a longing member of the in-general smoke alarm community poopooed over a public space. I get what he was saying, but I tend to dislike and don’t mess with an insult like that, especially the way he said “dump of a community” which was honestly disgusting but it’s his opinion which is OK. In my opinion though, insulting a public forum like this can cause more headache than what’s already happened which is uncivil. It’s okay to criticize a public forum or people like me but at least use constructive criticism and don’t insult.

My own overreacting I will also consider trying to calm down to a stop, myself.

Just ignore that person lol

For anyone who cares, here’s the label on the 112T. Based on what I’m reading, this unit is at least from 1986

Uh, okay…

Oh? Neat (12VDC model too!). By the way, do you have the power connector for it? (since it’s pretty much useless without one)

It was NIB so yes I do

I see that, very cool! I thought it would be much older considering that my 812T is from 1984. Very interesting.

NIB Pyrotector 3040RC24. Originally bought it thinking it was 12V, but I got lucky and it’s 24V (which is the version I always wanted)

Inside of the unit

Internal lable on the mounting bracket. They used that diagram on both 120VAC units as well as the 12/24VDC units which is why it mentions AC, despite being a DC model.

Manual is dated 12/88 and mentions System Sensor for some reason. Gonna assume that Pyrotector was bought by System Sensor/Pittway and continued making these

Very nice!

Well, wasn’t that a lucky outcome!

Rather odd…

Oh? Hmm…I’m honestly not sure what happened to Pyrotector, Inc., but they might have been acquired by System Sensor for all we know. Another note though: System Sensor was actually still under BRK at the time: from what I’ve read System Sensor did not formally come under Pittway until the early 90s.

EDIT: according to a company database I maintain Pyrotector was supposedly already out of business by 1978 & was supposedly acquired by Grinnell at some point (don’t quote me on this however as I’m not sure).

Considering most NIB 24V models are usually like $75+ (and typically are the smoke only 3041 series), I’d say it is.

My recent rare finds: Swirly Fire Sentry, Oster, Test button Westclox x3, Kidde Fenwall, Dicon Tentek Sears, Dicon 350 Sears
