I think the far left unit was OEM’d by Hochiki
Yes it was. Iirc it is the PID-B
It’s obviously a Hochiki…
i’ve seen an ad for those in an early 70s edition of NFPA/Fire Journal
Gotta love FireJournal, they have everything.
I got this weird smoke alarm from a store for 3 dollars. How rare is it? I have never heard of something like it before.
Heres the link of the yt video i made of it.
Pretty sure those are decently rare.
@PhotoElev would probably know.
@PhotoElev, we summon thee in the name of the BRK SS718.
Wait, there are other enthusiasts too, James isn’t active on here but I bet a few more people know about this, namingly, @The09Creeper or @Steel_City_Alarms .
He’s always the first that comes to mind… but yeah, there are others
Me too, I watch his videos and boi do I love them. He oughta join my faction cause he is trying to save that one SS718 his friend found.
I remember that rare to some degree, I have to ask the others
The rest are UK alarms btw
Ah yes, those, very neat indeed. Odd if you ask me though that Kidde not only opted to change the button design for their European-market alarms but also to sell them under the “Kidde Fyrnetics” brand name instead of just “Kidde”.
Okay, here’s a never-before-seen rare one, the Kidde/Nighthawk/Fyrnetics KN-COSM-I, the non-battery backup version which nobody here in the community owns whatsoever. Although the more well-known Canadian version (dash ICA) is more common than this but still very rare, thus a Canadian collector in the community owns one.
I predicted this alarm in my topic, Predict Undocumented Fire Alarm Variants! and 1 day after I look up on Google and AI does something good for once and linked me to a manuel of the dash IB/I, and on the title page and page 1 of the *.pdf file, I noticed this fine print:
Don’t know if anyone noticed this before in their dash IB manuels but this is exactly why you should
Point proven.
I found some patents that are very interesting.
BRK SS718
Fyrenetics Lifesaver shell
Old Fyrenetics ionization chamber
Fyrenetics low battery circuit
This is one of if not my favorite smoke alarm in my entire collection! This is the Sears 439.57003 from Circa 1979 and is based off of the Guardion FB-1A. However this is “as you can see” brown… yes brown! This is infact the original color as this was one of sears Woodgrain models meant to be installed on surfaces such as Wood panels.
Thats a Pyrotector 30-77 most likely the 30-77ARF model as it sounds like it uses the Star Piezo just like my 30-77ARF5.
