Ah, that. Why would it have a bell if it’s a voice system though? (if it’s a voice system at least)
Ah, yeah.
Considering you hear said hi-lo tone right before a voice message/announcement according to videos I’ve seen, that makes sense.

I dont know but after a few seconds the bells deactivate and the hi low and voice start. thats how it works that i see in japanese fire alarm testing videos
As I understand it, many fire alarm systems throughout that part of Southeast Asia are relatively similar. In Japan, your call point, bell/sounder/speaker, and some sort of visual indicator (usually a red incandescent lamp or LED, prior to strobes now being required) were all in one package that mounted to the wall.
I suspect that bells are a holdover from older systems that didn’t include much anything else other than call points and bells. Maybe a waterflow switch if the building was sprinklered.
Oh yeah they were only in the old places the rest was call points and horn strobes only. Sometimes even est?!?!?
The bell circuit is controlled by a relay with NC contact in voice evac panel. When an announcement is being delivered, the relay pops and cuts off bells to prevent them from drowning the voice. When the whoop tone begins, the relay releases to let bells ring. In events when voice panel is inoperable, the relay is kept in released state and bells can still work as a backup, just like what an old non-voice-evac system does.
The red ring surrounding the call point is illuminated.
Oh ok never knew that. I just found it on myy schools nohmi panel instructions, There is a relay to cut of bells if voice is on but we dont have it hooked up to voice evac yet. there is a video i also found using the same heat detectors my school uses https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvrG8_K9Spc
I found out that those are the newer model to combine the red indicator into one thing.
