It’s Historic Fire Alarm Preservationist Society or HFAPS. And that’s great.
Also I’m looking to start a giveaway next week or sometime after because I’m finna have a lot of stuff and I gotta inventory (count) the stuff I have.

I just realized how dirty (& thus still unprofessional) that new name would sound if you were to mostly say it as one word rather than say each letter individually, so you might want to think of something else, heh.

maybe just the LSPS part would be better, considering that some of us are concerned with more devices than commercial FA apparatus or could be stuff that we could expand to that still relate to life safety (i.e smork alams, exit signs(?), etc)

Yeah, which is why I basically always say “life safety” instead of just “fire alarm(s)” (also because it sounds less “cringy” in a sense).

Too much of a mouthful if you ask me (plus the fact that ideally such an organization would save the new as well as the old (or at least that’s what I would do). I’m not sure I like the use of “society” either (maybe because it just doesn’t sound like a term that a professional commercial organization would use? (even if this organization obviously wouldn’t be commercial in nature, but still).

We got people like the Global Weather and EAS Society and that’s a big group. And also “Historic” don’t necessarily mean just old stuff. We still save modern stuff as well. And by the way, we got gov’t organisations with long names, and I like Historic Life Safety Equipment Preservationist Society.
Sure, but I’d rather have something else other than “society” at the end (including nothing at all): it’s just not that good of a “descriptor” if you ask me.

An important message regarding the possible future of TAFATP/HLSEPS
I cannot stress to you guys enough about what is going on right now. My aunt has evicted me from her home and I’m being sent to West Virginia in Mingo County, in Beech Creek where is basically in the middle of nowhere. Furthermore, I may be completely unable to save the rest of the fire alarm systems slated for replacement at Walters State! Additionally, I may not be able to get the systems I have saved from on-site! All giveaways and the unboxing video have all been postponed indefinitely. I am officially leaving the state of Tennessee on the 22nd of January, and my aunt is not allowing me to go to college on Wednesday the 21st. I honestly need help right now because I can not even think straight. If I end up disappearing from the community for awhile, I am going to grant @mass2475ada and @simplex_4903-9238 emergency temporary complete ownership of TAFATP/HLSEPS until my possibly unlikely return to the community. This is a desperate call for help. I am extremely sorry for any inconveniences that this may cause. Please spread this message to every platform you can. Especially the FPF discord server and my server as I will be completely inactive on that platform indefinitely.
