Does anyone know when these devices, such as the HMS-S and the OP921 were originally released? I’m working on a post about “What if my schools had been built with different FA systems”, and I’ve been able to find everything I need on the wiki, except for the release date of these. It would be extremely helpful to know.
My records are saying for the HMS, 2023, while the OP is showing 2020. To be exact, The OP921, came out in late 2019. The pull station, HMS-S came out in 2025.
I definitely appreciate the help, but I think you might be mistaken. I have examples of these devices being installed at least as far back as 2013 in my area.
The main thing I’m wondering (for everyone, not just @simplex_4903-9238 ) is whether or not the XLS protocol devices were available in 2007-2008. I know the FireFinder XLS was released in the very early 2000’s, but did it just use MXL devices back then?
I wonder if the XLS protocol can even be used on Faraday MPC-6000 panels. I’m thinking it can because they had HMS-S pulls at the Patriot Academy in Dandridge, TN and it was on a Faraday MPC-6000 system.
Same thing with the FireFinder, it uses that protocol as well because it’s just a rebrand of the Faraday MPC-6000 if you will.
There was a different protocol for MPC and Siemens panels back in the day, so they did not work between brands. Could be different now but I doubt it.
I think it is changed, considering, again, that my freshman school Patrol Academy in Dandridge had an MPC system with Siemens HMS-S pulls.
