Now a question: Which zones on the Simplex 4002 are reserved for (a) coded pull stations, and (b) waterflow?
A: for coded pulls, it’s zone 1 and for water flow, it’s zone 7, if this isn’t correct, I’ll ask the Retired STR-SG if he knows what the zones are.

I can add one to the answer. The NAC on the 4001 also is FWR. Scope photo below of 4001 NAC with 1/2 amp load.

The NAC on the 4001 also is FWR.
To an enthusiast, the difference between filtered and FWR is whether or not mechanical horns sound raspy. How come mechanical horns on a 4001 don't sound raspy? Can a panel output FWR but not to the level where it affects horn operation?

If you look closely at the scope photo I posted the peaks of the half sine wave are flattened. That probably is due to the MOVs and other components in the power supply and across the NAC. It is possible that the flattened sine wave changes the sound of a mechanical horn. The clipped peaks make the sine wave seem more like DC. With every half cycle going to 0 volts it is obvious there is no filtering in the circuit.

Since nobody answered the 4100+ question, it is a 1,000 point panel. If the panel is part of a network the point total combines local hardware points and network external points. A 4100+ also can provide 2,000 annunciation points. That would be LEDs and switches.
