So there are these two bells at my school which I believe are from the old system. I thought that I could share it with you guys. I know the one In the first picture is an IBM bell but I don’t know the model number. The bell in the second picture is unmarked. So I wanted to ask if you knew what these are. I do not believe they are hooked up to the current system (EST 3) but I may be able to convince the school to let me have them. (Sorry for the fuzzy pictures.)
Great finds! Yeah, the first one is definitely an IBM going by the label design & the “shroud” on the top (don’t believe I could tell you the exact model number though), but just like you I have no clue on the second one’s identity (maybe it’s a Faraday or Simplex bell going by the gong being slightly above the mechanism). If you could get clearer photos they might be able to be better identified.
Sure hope that works out! (especially since I believe red IBM bells are rare (as in even more rare than their gray counterparts, since I believe all I’ve ever seen them in is gray)
The unmarked bell seems to be painted too.
Yeah: if it wasn’t perhaps the label would still be visible & thus you’d know what make & model it is.
@TheCarson116 I talked with the assistant principal and she said that if the ever take it down that I can have It.
