7002T Strobe Adjustment?

Not sure if anyone will know this, as it came up once a LONG time ago, but does anyone know of a way to adjust the strobe flash speed on the 7002T? I thought I recall someone once saying there’s a (hex)screw on the back of it that will adjust the strobe speed, but I’m not sure who said it. You’d think there’d be some way, since they all flash at a different speed.

Just thought I’d throw the question out there.

I recall being able to change the flash speed and horn pitch by tightening/loosening the bolt that goes through the gray cardboard thing. There should also be a potentiometer on the strobe board itself like the WST-series ones, but I’ve never removed one from a 7002T to find out.

Welcome back, BTW. 8)

7002T’s will shock you even if they aren’t operating! The strobe capacitor holds such a big charge that if you were to touch a finger to each power terminal on the alarm, every part of your hand that the electricity flowed through would hurt and go numb for a little while. Discharge the strobe by shorting the power leads to the alarm before messing with anything. You might get a healthy spark.

I second that!

That happened to me when I removed my 7002T strobe assembly, almost a week after applying power! Except I touched the circuit board instead, probably near the power leads.

As for the OP, I don’t recall seeing any potentiometers.

I had a 110 candela RSS strobe bite me once… It made my finger numb for hours. If you know what a 1 candela strobe capacitor shock feels like then imagine that 110x more painful.

Guys stop!!! You are really tempting me to touch the terminals on the 7002T on my desk right now…
just touched it but it’s discharged :frowning:

Haha yeah. Usually it discharges in a couple hours, but that’s amazing that one stayed charged for a week.

Back to the OP, IIRC there’s a volume screw or something. When loosened the horn moves further and that lowers the pitch and makes the strobe slower.
Don’t quote me, I’m not so sure.

Lick a 9 volt battery.

Yes, that’s correct. I tried it once! I don’t know about the strobe, because I ripped it off when it broke.

I used to have a video with a 34t volume screw, but I deleted it (along with a few others).

Once my friend licked an Apple thunderbolt iPhone charger… he got shocked.

I’m pretty sure that this is what you need to adjust by the way.

Or you could be working on your cammera and zap the crap out of yourself…

Yeah I saw the security alarm that used that method with the capacitor.
