hey guys. i was just lookin on ebay and i came across what is an mt4 with the old ws style strobe. is it just me or did wheelock really have the old ws strobe on the MTs before using the ada one?!
Yes they did. There is a system in a local Walmart that uses those as well as WST strobes.
Those are 120VAC horn/strobes which are usually used for general signaling applications. The first MT’s came with ADA-compliant strobes along with a line of non-ADA high-voltage models. The EHS-series horn/strobes came prior to the MT and looked very similar to the one in that listing.
To me it looks like an EHS-DL1. I didn’t know they made those /w fogged glass strobes. I would buy that if I were you, because that is a rare find. Nice. 
Those would actually be the wheelock ehs-el1. I would definitely get it if i had the money and the timing was right…
I remember a former user here, Dan (his ID was 7002t) mentioning his middle school having those non-ADA Wheelock MTs installed in 1993 (previously they had an old Gamewell system with loud Faraday Type 2 horns.) Though they did look like the EHS they still had the typical MT sound.
