According to the Simplex Model Number Checker & Google no such device exists. Are you sure you read the model number correctly?
that’s what it says on the model of the alarm, so i don’t know if there was a mistake, but since the model doesn’t exist that might be the case
What kind of device is it exactly? (TrueAlert? 4903? Neither?)
it’s a vertical mount speaker strobe made back in February 1993 and 25 volts DC
also when did simplex start producing 4903 speaker strobes?
i have been thinking of taking the alarm to tyco simplex to see if they can figure the model out. the vertical models are 4903-9216, 4903-9218, 4903-9220, 4903-9402, 4903-9404, and 4903-9406, but they are all Electromechanical horns
even though there is a 4904-9136 and a 4906-9136, the 4904 is a strobe and the 4906 is a white ceiling mount.
the same day i got the alarm, there was a back box on it, so i tried to take it off and before i knew it, the speaker was disconnected from the alarm still attached by the wires to the strobe. i put it together again with 1 screw, but i took it apart again to see when it was built
They probably did back in 1993. That’s the earliest I have heard a 4903 being made. Keep on to that 4903. I have never had heard of a 4903-9136. It is probably rare.
