Addressable Detector With Sounder Base Vs. Wall Horns

I’m specifying a project to use Addressable Smoke Detectors Similar to SD365 Series by Firelite with B200S-LF-WH sounder bases.

There will be no wall mounted Horns as the system would alarm via the B200S-LF-WH sounder bases.

Any issues with doing this?

This is for a large Single Family occupancy. The building will be sprinklered and will have sprinkler flow alarm etc. & elevator recall.

Thanks

Addressable system setup is definitely a great idea to have and the System Sensor B200S-LF-WH sounder bases meet the 520hz NFPA requirement. I’d seen almost every residential building have some kind of dedicated NAs in the halls so I’d imagine you’d want to install some horn strobes where the hallway area is.

Another suggestion I have is each unit should also have an addressable/intelligent CO detector in it as well such as MCS-COP3 or FSCO-951 detectors that would work with the system which will also trigger the fire alarm (They also work good on these low frequency sounder bases as well.) in case if there is CO in any of the units.

If there are any ADA units or any units where there would be persons with disabilities. There should be dedicated strobe NAs with at least 75 candella to meet the ADA standards for fire alarm systems as well inside those units as well as the halls as previously mentioned above.

Other than that definitely check with the city/ordinances or county codes to see if elevator recall would be required to have. If so, then there may also be required to have smoke/heat detectors near the elevator that would also put it into recall if a fire is near the elevator.
