ADT call point

A few years ago, i bought this very rare ADT coded pull station. And unlike anything ive ever seen, this model does not include a glass break feature, its only a solid door/cover. This model in particular has an Octagon door, not the common oval one. It says it’s an ADT model “B-1046DAN”.

Huh, that’s quite unusual (though also interesting). It’s a pull station though, not a call point, heh.

they used to call these pull stations “call points” because they are the specific location where the person signals an alarm in an emergency. these were coded stations that sended a signal to telegraph companies that told fire station were the emergency was located

Oh? Well I’ve only ever known the kind of manual initiating devices used mainly outside North America to be called that, but alright. Do you mean “fire alarm box” or “street box”? (since these are terms I’ve known to be used to describe outdoor fire alarm manual initiating devices that alert the fire department rather than setting off a larger fire alarm system)
