Is it legal to have a commercial fire alarm system installed in a residence. Also if it is legal would you need a alarm permit if your town/city requires it for alarm systems.
It’s probably not a good idea unless you are licensed to install fire alarm systems. A plywood demo board would be fine.

Just to ask the question could a homeowner install it if they pulled the proper permit, expecting they have knowledge of how the systems work and of the codes associated with it.
