I have a project which is a voice evac type and the engineer wants a special alarm tone for areas with animal cages. The engineer has specified a "slow Warble not exceeding 500hz" - can anyone suggest where something like this might be found?
By “warble” do they mean a “rapid hi-lo” kind of tone? (sort of like a phone ringing)
I think you are going to have to make something like this yourself. Unfortunately, I can’t really help you with that as I’m not experienced with that. One piece of advice I will give you is that I would recommend not going lower than 300hz (or the minimum rating of your speakers as some may be higher) because most fire alarm speakers have a hard time going lower than that.
You can use Audacity to generate a tone. I have a warble tone that can be pitched down to meet the < 500 Hz requirement.
I think the have the Notifier audio library if you want it.
