On alot of newer nick shows, like true jackson, neds declassified, etc, there are certain scenes that horn strobes can be seen. Im not sure what they are though.
āNedās DeClassifiedā has some Wheelock MTs and red 6-inch Adaptabels scattered around the school, with 270-SPO pulls. In the āEmergency Drillsā episode when they have a fire drill, the only alarm going off is a stereotypical old-style āfire bellā located right in their classroom!
Back on page 26, Fire Alarm Fan posted about a special called āFirefightersā that was on TLC, which featured a bunch of alarms. I found the YouTube vid for the part that has the alarms. Jump to 12:48.
No problem! I saw your post when I was searching recently, and with the mix of alarms and especially the buzzing smoke alarms, I just had to see it. We had Probe 202ās in my first house, where I lived from when I was 1 to when I was 7, and I havenāt heard them in person since then. Those things terrified me. Anyway, I figured Iād post the link.
In last nightās Simpsons episode, Principal Skinner needed a way to buy time for Bart to study before a standardized test he needs to save the school. Bart suggests he do one of his classic past-time pranks - pull the fire alarm! āIād do it, but everyoneās looking at me!ā So Skinner thinks about it, and then we get the angel/devil conscience bit. Angel Skinner says āDonāt do it Seymour. Donāt break your own rules!ā The Devil conscience is his mother Agnes, whom says āYou wimp!ā and pulls the alarm (once again, resembling a Simplex T-bar pull station), setting off the school bell sound AND the sprinkler system! It looks like their fire alarm and sprinkler systems need more repairs, but this IS an underfuded school weāre talking about!
Funny thing about that, in The Simpsons: Hit & Run video game, when you pull the fire alarm in the school (which VERY CLOSELY resembles an actual Simplex T-bar), it will only latch for 6 seconds, and when it goes back up, the bell stops ringing! You can even pull it again, and the same thing will happen.
In āUntold Stories of the ERā thereās often this 4100 cabinet with some sort of an annunciator.
The label on it says āPPA ANNUNCIATORā.
I did a little research on Google, and found a picture that Google had cached from Dan Mās College Fire Alarms page of an identical unit somewhere at UAlbany.
A viewer posted on one of my YouTube videos that thereās a smoke alarm in Encino Man (1992). So I looked it up on YouTube, and itās a Probe 202, with a ā180 BPM Marchtimeā (3 pulses/second) electromechanical horn sound.
On tonightās ABC World News they had a report on the foiled shooting attempt at UCF, and showed police footage with SpectrAlert Classics in Temporal 3.
It also shows some form of BG-12. From what I can make out, Iām assuming itās and NBG-12 with the Notifier Fire Systems label.
