Annunciators without system control capability

Have you seen them? The local Walmart used to have a Radionics annunciator by the grocery entrance that lack system control ability. However the annunciator has been replaced and the new one has system control capability.

I’ve seen the occasional Bosch or Radionics keypad that for some reason had hardly any buttons on it (not sure why Bosch/Radionics made such keypads honestly).

Apparently it was done so that people in the public couldn’t tamper with the system functions unauthorized, but the majority of the public are totally clueless about how to even do such.

Most Chinese FA annunciators have no system control capabilities. They only offer information about the loop and address of initiating devices tripped in a fire.

The point of those is to JUST ANNUNCIATE. The Bosch/Radionics D1257s are meant for use in areas where you don’t want to have a normal keypad in cases that someone may tamper with it, etc. These are normally found near the entrance of the grocery side of Walmart, so when the fire department walks in, they can see what is in alarm. Silence and reset are not required at annunciators. They usually will have Radionics/Bosch D1256s or 1255s in the customer service area, where its less likely that someone will mess with them.
