APOLLO ALARMSENSE PANEL HELP !!

APOLLO ALARMSENSE PANEL HELP !!

I’ve got 2 apollo alarmsense fire alarm panels with the alarmsense smoke detectors and sounder beacon bases but when i switch the panel on it just activates the sounder beacon bases … I’ve tried the 2 panels but they both do the same, its giving out 24 Volts when i switch the panel on which straight away makes the sounder beacon bases activate .

There is no fire or the leds dont come on smoke detectors which indicates theres no smoke activating the smoke detectors .so i dont know what the problem is ive read the website and it says it should give out 24 volts when theres a fire but its giving 24 volts out when i switch the panel on.

Any help plz
thanks

First things first, is this system being used as an actual life saftey system installed in a building?

I am no expert, but many panels put out -24 volts when the panel is normal in order to supervise the NACs. If you reversed the + and - terminals on the panel or sounder this may be causing the issue. I don’t know about Apollo equipment so this may not be the case, I also do not know how these panels are supervised, do you have EOLRs installed if they are required? And if they are installed if wires are removed from the NAC causing an open cause a trouble? (Please don’t pull wires out while the panel is on) When I get the chance I’ll take a look in the manuals. Anyone who has worked with Apollo stuff before know?

Edit: What is the exact model of this panel so that I can look in the manual?

The AlarmSense is a fire alarm control panel for use in the United Kingdom/European Union/Asia (possibly South or Central America too); but most of us are from the US where fire alarm systems are completely different, so I can’t really help you there. Is it possible that the panel runs off a different voltage than 24VDC? (12-24VDC is standard for North America)… I’d imagine it would be relatively the same overseas but I am not too sure as I don’t live overseas.

I did some searching and found a few things. The Alarmsense system uses a method to operate call points (manual stations), smoke detectors, and signaling devices on the same pair of wires. The system works on a voltage shift method. The call points and smoke detectors normally operate on 12 volts. When an alarm is sensed the voltage shifts to 24 volts which activates the signal devices and aux relays. I did some screen shots of a brochure I found. There are several panel brands that are compatible with these devices. Why the panel is supplying 24 volts at startup is beyond my knowledge of this system.

Here is the Dropbox link to the complete brochure.

Thanks for your reply’s I have no idea why both panel(s) are giving out 24 Volts straight away
Ive looked through the manuals that you’ve sent me
Ive got two “alarmsense panels” but one is a dark grey with a key switch and one is light grey with no key switch.
Dark Grey one is : CFP AlarmSense 2 Zone Two-Wire Fire Alarm Panel Part No. CFP702-2 (ive actually got the 4 zone panel in this)
Light Grey one is : Apollo Alarmsense C-Tec Two Wire Fire Alarm Panel - 2 Zone CFP704-2 (ive actually got the 2 zone panel in this)
There near enough the same they look the same they do the same just that one has a key switch and one dosent and one has a deley timer and the other one dosent btw they light grey is the one without them things.

Thanks for your help  :?:
