Update: I haven’t looked into it heavily yet, but it looks like the most affordable option is going to be to handle translation via LibreTranslate which I can self host, rather than handling a per-request charge on each translate. I’ve tested it out lightly for accuracy. It’s not quite on par with Google or Azure Translate, however it seems reasonable for our current needs. And of course, if we find too many inaccuracies in the future we could always switch.
