Bug on iOS and iPadOS

I primarily use this website on iOS and iPadOS. I have alway/ had an odd keyboard issue that pops up from time to time, where the cursor gets completely misaligned and the text enters in a completely different spot when the keyboard pops up. It also makes the “hit-boxes” for the UI buttons get completely out-of-whack, and it is also not lined up when I highlight text. It’s pretty much unusable when this happens, and the button misalignment has already caused me to lose hours of work from pressing the wrong thing.

This only happened to me a few times in the past, but it now happens almost every time now that I’ve updated to iOS and iPadOS 26. It doesn’t usually happen when I first write a post for some reason, but if I exit out and come back, I almost always have the issue. It also does seem to happen more often on my phone than on my iPad. I’ve tried different browsers as well, with no success. I have used this website on both old and new Mac computers as well as Windows 11 and have had no issues.

Some helpful information:
I’m having these issues on an iPhone 16e and an iPad 10th generation. I also had these issues a couple of times on my old phone (iPhone SE 2nd generation). Both devices are updated to the latest version of iOS 26. These issues existed before the update to iOS 26, but not to this extent.

I have not had these issues on any othe websites or applications.

I’ve had this issue many times, not with this site alone but it’s been happening to every other site, I think it’s a software issue.. Are you on the iOS 26?? It could be that.

Yes, I’m on iOS and iPad 26. This issue has happened to me before on iOS 17 and 18, but it’s now more more prevalent on iOS 26.

After this most recent update, has it gotten better?

The issue does seem like it has fixed itself from what I can tell. I wanted to wait a little bit to see if it did indeed help, and I think it’s fine. I’ll definitely let you know if it becomes a problem again, but I think it’s fine, as I’m typing this on my iPhone right now with no issue. I do like this update, as it seems to have made the website a lot more polished and refined on mobile in general.

Unfortunately, the issue seems to be showing up again. It just happened when I tried to edit a post. I think it has to do with the keyboard popping up on the screen messing with something.

It seems that the update improved a lot of functionality on iOS 26, because I saw some of the same bugs you did, but further issues we may be seeing could be issues either with Discourse, or Apple WebKit, both of which are out of my control from here. :confused:
