I need help on how to wire a trouble bell system to my 2224 panel. I know HenBasket made a trouble bell for his FC-2224, and I want to try to wire a faraday 401140 trouble bell
to mine, but I cant seem to get it to work. Any suggestions?
I think there’s a trouble relay. You probably need to connect it to aux power.
That’s not very helpful, Alex. I would assume Steven already tried to figure it out himself before asking here.
Steven, did you happen to also get a manual for the 401140, or did it come without one?
It came without a manual. It has 2 wires for power, 2 wires for trigger, and 2 wires for the bell. That’s all I really know.
Then in that case, I would connect the power wires to your panel’s aux power, the trigger wires to the NO and COM contacts for the trouble relay, and the bell wires to the bell.
Would the relay happen to be an SPST relay or something similar in design? I’m just curious, as if i get one of these, a horn may be ideal given it’s location and use.
SPST, DPST, SPDT, etc. are for switches, not relays. Relay contacts come in three; Normally Open, Normally Closed, and COMmon. In the case of this panel, the troubles are non-latching, so the relay will de-energize once the troubles clear.
Sorry, those are generally listed as relays for where i buy them. however, would it be possible to run different voltages across the trouble relay for different trouble bells, or, as mentioned, other devices?
All right, I’ll try that, thanks!
