I am considering purchasing a Gentex avsm-44 and more commanders. I was wondering if it would synchronize the Gentex strobes with earlier Simplex strobes since at the time of production, Simplex and Gentex used the same sync protocol.
The old Simplex synchronization protocol (flash upon power cut) seems to work with both my MDL and ZMS-44. Unsure if the protocols between the AVSM-44 and ZMS-44 are different, but as long as the Gentex strobes flash when the sync module cuts power, you should be good
I think the avsm-44 is newer and can synchronize the commander 1s with the 2s, 3s, and 4s. I’ll test it on my -9254 first
