Choose your theme, and default settings!

At the time of writing this post, we only have the default discourse themes, but the colors have been modified to focus on red, cause that’s what The Fire Panel is known for. There are currently 4 theme options, and you can choose what you like! We have opted to make the default the “Dark” theme, but you can set it to whatever you prefer:

Color Scheme Settings

  1. Head on over to your User Preferences:

  2. On the left hand side of the screen, select “Interface”

  3. At the top of your page you can select the color scheme. Dark (Default), Light, WCAG Dark, and WCAG Light. Previews of each, in order, are below (Click to expand the image)

  4. Once you have chosen a theme you’re happy with, you can also select a separate theme for when your browser is in dark mode. This feature is supported on Android, iOS, Windows, and Mac so long as your browser supports it. For example, if you want your theme to automatically change when your phone or computer automatically turns on dark mode, that can be done with these setting examples:

Other Settings

  • You can choose to increase text size, or make it smaller with the “Text Size” setting. This can be setup per device, or for your entire account. Here’s an example of larger text:

  • Our default home page is set to ‘Categories’ mode, however if you’d rather have a different setting, you can choose that with the “Default Home Page” setting. In this example, I’ve set the default to “Latest”

  • Finally, there are lots of check boxes for simple settings you may like. Feel free to set those to your preferences. The customization is really nice!
