Christmas tree-mounted smoke alarms?

So for some reason I was going through google patents and I found this:

It was accepted in 1986 and it’s supposed to go on your Christmas tree. Never seen this, interested to see if anyone else has any info on these.

I don’t have a photo but I once spotted the ultra-rare Probe 601 for sale on Ebay: it’s literally a smoke detector disguised as a Christmas ornament (I wanted to get it but it appears that NLind did instead).

Jan Eaton (or missj_73 here) also has a detector called the “Calfax NOMA Guardian Angel” which is a combination smoke/heat detector in the shape of an angel ornament (which yes, you can hang on your tree just like the Probe 601).

This kind of makes sense, as with the incandescent Christmas lights and a real tree, it could end in a crispy surprise.
