I’m in search of a Simplex or IBM 4045-13 mechanical chime. I understand these devices are hard to find. If someone finds/has one in good, working condition and is looking to sell, please send me a PM with pictures and a price.

This is what they look like. They come in red and textured gray variants. (My photo from MSU Mankato)

Did you ever find the Simplex chime / xylophone you were looking for?
I have several 4045-12’s that I would be willing to sell. Let me know and I will send you some pictures for your review. They are all working and the insides are very clean. There are minor cosmetic issues on the outsides. Other then that, they are ready to be put back in service. When you get a chance, check out my website: Old School Fire Alarms

I did not know he was on here, I’ll have to ask him about some vintage fire alarm systems I just came across in the rubber city. I know of some places he might be interested in.

I have a fictional high school from 1954 that uses the “-13” Model in the library and front office hallway; that is in the “Make up a System” category
