Co Detector Question

I have one of the System Sensor CO1224TR carbon monoxide detectors and I was wondering if I should put it either by the fuel burning appliance like the furnace or should it be put by the bedrooms. I only have one so which location is more important? thanks.

From NFPA: “CO alarms should be installed in a central location outside each sleeping area…” You should not install one close to any fuel burning appliance due to the possibility of a slight amount of CO being released by design will cause nuisance alarms. Same thought behind you don’t want to install a smoke detector in a kitchen.

That’s what I was thinking thanks for the help.
