Looking for some InSite as this is the 2nd time I have come across this. Firelite ES200 operating without panel dialer activated perfectly and ran for a week with no alarms, supervisory or troubles. Today activated dialer in panel and connected to StarLink Max Fire 2, activated by third party monitoring CO. They did receive a few “random” signals of supervisory and restores when testing in batches.
Panel showing Comm 1 Failure, Comm 2 Failure and total comm failure so not sure how they received anything!
Signal strength on StarLink = 4
Trouble shooting:
Assume cell dialer issue. (IPOTS programed for 777-777-7777)
Possible bad cable between Starlink and Panel (have seen many times). Tested and Passed.
Checked for dial tone, Off hook dial tone in 3-5 seconds
Inline monitored panel Telco line from panel to dialer. Panel picking up line (5-10sec), dial tone appears, dials and within 3 seconds of dialing completed sends two short tones, clicks, hangs up and dials again before hearing any return tones.
Connected Butt set directly to lines to dialer, dialed out, answered, received one 2-3 sec tone from central station/StarLink in about 3 seconds from answer.
What I think the problem is. Not enough time delay in the panel programing between dialing and sending tones/communication and hang-up redial.
Called Firelite tech support and the resolution is change panel (We did do some testing and programing confirmation). I asked if the dialer had time delays for this and they said no. Asked about the dip switches on the dialer and was told they are factory preset and tech support has no information on the dialer settings.
What do you think or what am I missing?
Last time it was a ES-50 Panel with same problem last spring. Installed new panel downloaded same program that was in the panel and tested perfect 1st try. Returned at my expense to Honeywell via UPS and three months later received a credit from my supplier with not explanation or findings for the cost of the panel.
