this is everywhere but i dont understand why
when you activate the pull station, why is there like a 1-3 second delay and the sirens sound like they just had a glitch in the system
This is actually an intentional feature of modern fire alarm systems. Back in the 1980s (I’ll use the Simplex 2001 as an example) systems activated immediately once pulled. However, this was also the case with smoke detectors, which were more vulnerable to false alarms due to dust or other particles in the chamber.
Nowadays, panels have a feature called alarm verification, which is a short delay which allows the panel to confirm an alarm is valid before going into alarm.
As for the signals having a spasm, that’s also intentional. The first few soundings of all signals are the panel attempting to synchronize them all together, so that they sound and flash all at the same time. This is very apparent in System Sensor devices (like the Advance), but can also be seen in Simplex products, like TrueAlerts (where the strobe will flash several times before the horn sounds, or the horn will sound a non-standard code, while waiting to be synchronized).
if they sound and flash at the same time
isnt it a little bit weird that the 2120 fire alarm horns and strobe lights / lights (version varies) that the horn just goes with no break while the strobe flashes (strobe) and the vers just has a plain light with a similar horn system
is that due to the tech then or am i mistaken?
[tbh my mind just lost track on what i was gonna say lol]
