Which type of detectors are recommended for a chemical storage building?
There is a 5 story building, all floors are equipped with chemicals. To make a design which detectors should consider?
With these chemicals is there a possibility of a clean burning fire? As in, not much visible smoke?
If that answer to that question is yes I would consider Ionization detectors. Most vendors even have combo type detectors that will combine photoelectric and ionization priciest in the same head. For example EST offers a SIGA-IPHS. This would offer you Ionization, Photoelectric, and Heat.
If there’s no clean burning fire possibility I would likely consider just using standard photoelectric devices.
Are these storage rooms considered explosion proof or susceptible to explosions? If so that opens up a whole other can of worms.
Doesn’t it though, lol…
