That just looks like a generic speaker behind a cover plate meant for a Simplex 4000-series horn (in gray too, which is a rare color). Interesting how it’s recessed too.
Or maybe it is a life alarm speaker with the cover removed
UPDATE: I found a speaker in Samuel AKA el Chupacabra’s collection that looks really similar to the speaker pictured
Not sure what’s up with the grille on it but it might be the same thing.
The only way to find out is to have Samuel take off the cover and see if the speaker has a silver cone
Why does it look like a 4050?
Because that’s the same plate you might find a Simplex 4000-series horn behind (4050, 4051, etc.).
Because that speaker probably replaced a simplex 4050
Mine is a rebranded Federal Signal 950-series speaker and has a brownish cone. It features a label on the back that reads “vandal resistant”, hence the silver mesh grille behind the red plate.
I don’t know whether the speaker with the grey grille is a different variant of the 950 or something unrelated.
Or it could be a federal signal 301 speaker
