Dog’s collection

So I looked it up. and usually there’s something going on with ionizing in the sensor. and then when smoke comes it stops it from ionizing apparently. But I might be wrong.

Radioactive element (commonly americium 241) causes the air to ionize which allows current to flow, when smoke enters the chamber it disrupts the flow of the ionized particles, dropping the flow of current, which a little integrated circuit detects and triggers the alarm.

Huh weird. I wonder why whenever I touch my finger to the sensor and pull out the battery while touching the battery it goes off. Unless having my finger there is blocking something.

With the false alarm sensor I’d say they are uncommon, but with the later plastic sensor then I’d say they are common.

No need to be rude we all start somewhere.

Here is a video of my First Alert SA76RD

Hopefully tomorrow maybe the next day I will be getting a Fyrnetics 0905!

Here is my Fyrnetics 0905! You can see some sort of date on the sensor please tell me which one it is I know it’s from 1989 but it could be either April 2nd or February 4th

I have no honest clue how the manufacturing date is supposed to be read exactly, but at least you know the supposed exact year the detector was made.

I just borrowed this from one of my mom’s friends! It’s a 9120B. I will upload a video of me testing it tomorrow. (I don’t have the base for it)

What do you mean you borrowed it? Are you saying that you took down a detector that was in active life safety service?

So the friend was in the process of installing them and they’re still two that hadn’t been installed, and this is one of them I will be giving it back in 1 to 2 days.

Oh, alright I guess, just make sure it gets back there before long so it can start protecting said friend.

Here’s two photos that I shot of the sensor. it’s kind of hard to see but you can kind of see it.

Here’s my first alert 9120B (the file is too big to upload on its own) wait until the end of the video so that you can hear the dying sound I think it sounds like a bird. It’s also the coolest dying sound I’ve heard in person because the only other dying sound I’ve heard was on my P900 sounds like a quick low battery chirp.

I’m probably gonna get one soon

As an owner of a 9120B I absolutely love the dying sound :eagle::eagle::rofl:
That’s exactly what happens when this “Fierce Alert” (same thing except SMI-100 missing a test button) tries to fight a fire. It dies.

I think I might save that as a sticker on my iPad
