In the future I would like a FireX FX-1020 because they’re cool.

Keep in mind that if you get one of those, you’ll need to know how to hardwire it since I believe they are AC-powered only

Reminds me of the BRK 9120 that NewAgeServerAlarm had, which had its test button break off at one point.

Yep: a lot of older detectors are like that.

What’s the difference between the Kidde i9040 and the i9040E?

According to Google, the i9040E is a version of the i9040 sold exclusively through certain distributors (no idea if this is actually true or not though).

So besides from that they’re the same?

Yes, it would seem that they are indeed otherwise the same.

Bro I got an email that says this thing was here and then right when I looked at it it says it was sold :frowning:

By the way I will be getting a Kidde i9040 soon!

This right here is my FireX/Code one model B (the reason I also say Code one it’s because it’s a rebrand of the FireX model B) it has a tiny little base and is my new smallest smoke alarm! This one is from sometime in 2006.

I will make a video of me testing it later today

So the battery that came with it is almost dead and it makes a funny sound when I power the Code one with it

Very nice! I have several of the original FireX model, the 480/PB (though it goes by several other model numbers including, as you said, “B”).

Yeah originally I thought it was a PB but then I discovered it was a B

Also is there anyway I can fully drain this battery that came with it?

Not that I really know of. Why do you want to do so though?

So this is the battery that makes that weird sound whenever I put it in my Code one. And usually if I have a dead battery I will put it in one of my smoke alarms that has a matching time so that it’s more realistic, And this thing doesn’t really have much power left in it so there’s no point using it so I would like to be able to drain the power in it so that I can just have it in my Code one for realistic display purposes.
