I have an edwards 1251, but the circuitry is reversed. Instead of closing contacts, it opens them. Can somebody explain what type of system this would be used in and why these were made?

I actually have a 1251 that’s exactly like that, no clue why it’s designed in such a way though (unless for whatever reason the panel it would be connected to would be normally-closed instead of normally-open).
