Edwards 128D-124 Mini Horn

Just stumbled upon a fire alarm that has yet to be documented:

It’s a Edwards 128D-124 mini horn, a rebrand of the Gentex GX90.

I believe a few enthusiasts own one.

Wow that is rare. I never knew Edwards rebranded the gentex gx-90

I’ve seen these in multiple installations in my area. It seems that they were commonly used on 6616/6632 and ESA2000 systems in the early '90s. I, too, was surprised to learn that Edwards rebranded these signals the first time I spotted one in a building; until that point, I had assumed that the only mini horns they had sold were the 682-series models.

Here’s the datasheet for the 128D. Edwards also rebranded horn/strobe versions of the GX90, although I’ve never seen one.

I have a NIB one in my collection, someone was selling it on Ebay. & Yes, I can confirm it is actually a Gentex horn, with an Edwards GS sticker over it.

I have seen them rebranded by Simplex in a hotel room I stayed in that was built in 2000. I have only seen them rebranded by Edwards once in a video on YouTube of an apartment fire alarm going off.
