Edwards Residential Fire Warning System

I recently had my parents buy on eBay, a Edwards residential fire warning system. I assume it’s from the 1970’s. it just includes the panel, no owner’s manual, no detectors, no pull stations, nothing else. I was wondering if anyone has a list of compatible devices/things to hook up to it, and preferably a scan of the manual. any help would be appreciated. as far as I know it is pretty rare. below is the link to the eBay listing I found it https://www.ebay.com/itm/285506522572?hash=item427983cdcc:g:EJkAAOSwIT1lILnQ&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA8KvgOI4hYy9PBfOfBFdLK2VSShRiUohWnnZkMmKWHPdPDg%2FFxE%2BGqdurwCB68SLdJYu1Au32O1HsHWy0uQfsj5O5KrI1CYS9j1sEEoXyIc9DQPzYQgREal7%2BBW9RuhK4X%2FTwmrDXZe4vL20R%2BjoRPpW1aci39szAOgkVwbfx1ZQ5TctI7B1QgoWGDcgtU14%2FO2rwSqyUMi8DSnTjJbO94YmHg5v1ECcCpcu10i%2FueNQ70ihYUgk%2BBFLUmY6TqUF3Y01HQNYcZQIQ3LYezW2zXj2SxHO%2BhzvCs%2BLALgjdfGHtE4LPrDzFhT4haciWhZEDjg%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABFBMuNr2yvFi
and a link to the only YouTube video I could find of this.

I find it interesting how during the 1970s several companies made what are essentially residential fire alarm systems: American Bell (now AT&T) for instance made what’s basically a dialer: it listens for the sound of a smoke detector sounding, calls a preprogrammed phone number, & tells the callee that there’s a fire at that address.

Any normally-open device will work. I would reach out to Aaron Productions to see if he can send you a scan of the manual.

sorry to revive an old thread, but reached out to Aaron Productions, got no reply, but anyways, when it arrived it didn’t even include a diode, or any devices, or a manual. when I plug it in, It makes a noise, and the test button turns on the horn, but I don’t have any devices for it. also if anyone has the specifications for the diode, which acts like the end of line resistor, it goes after the last device as far as I know, I think I could rig something up to get it working. also if anyone has the model numbers of the devices (detectors, pull stations, horns, strobes) or other things to hook up to it that would be great. although the full manual/literature/documents would be appreciated. It currently is disassembled in my grandparents house, but I would like to reassemble it and get it working.

Sorry to hear that. Any normally-open (NO) device will work with the system. Not too sure about the diode however.
