EST Fireshield Plus question

I was looking at the manual for the EST Fireshield before I buy, so I could get a better understanding of the panel’s features. When it described the LCD text display, it said

Does this mean I’ll either have to do without an LCD, or install a dialer but not hook it up?

Yes, the LCD comes with the FSDACT dialer. If it’s installed but not hooked up, a trouble will appear.

Can it also be used in programming? I suppose I can deal with a comm trouble.
