What is the orange wire for? I know the w/b wires are for power.

Also, Mr. Google did not help me with his results.
Edit: I got this a few years ago from the contractors that redid the basement and kitchen.

According to this drawing the orange wire is fro 277 V connection.

I will add, on MOST exit signs / emergency lights there are 3 sets of wires:

White – Neutral
Black – 120V HOT
Orange – 277V HOT
