Exit Signs Being Replaced

Has anyone else noticed that most of today’s exit signs are now being replaced with this new exit sign:

I’ve recently been noticing this trend around my city. More and more of the old classic ‘Exit’ signs are being replaced with these green ones, and newer buildings are just being installed with them now.

Those type of signs are used all over the world, especially in Europe. I think its an attempt at making exit signs easier to understand, universally.

“EXIT” requires someone to be literate and know the English language.

These signs are more universally understood.

I’ve noticed the same thing in my area. Those new exit signs are becoming a common sight since they have been required in Ontario (for new buildings or renovations) since 2014.
