Farenhyt IFP-75 Programming Help

Hey y’all, as the title says, I need help with an IFP-75 I recently bought new-in-box for a cheap price on eBay. I tested the NACS and SLC, and everything works as expected. The only issue is programming.

I was under the impression that the IFP-75 didn’t need a license key, since on HFSS it shows up on the software, and you can create a configuration on it in HFSS just fine. I didn’t know you needed a license to upload to the panel. When I try downloading to the panel, it says I need a license to download to the panel, or something along those lines.

My question is, would there be any way to flash 6700 firmware onto it, or any way I can make it so that it can accept 6700 programming so I wouldn’t need a license? This isn’t going to be a life safety system and is just going to be used on a small demo board, so I don’t care if swapping firmware or modifying this panel in any way voids the warranty. I wanted to get mapping programmed and sync options programmed, but unfortunately, that’s only available through HFSS.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

Hi, which firmware version is on the IFP?

I don’t think flashing 6700 firmware on it would work, because the panels have different amounts of points. The IFP-75 supports 150 devices, and the 6700 supports 100. It would probably brick the panel or at least mess it up, so I would not recommend flashing 6700 firmware to it.

By the way, if I remember correctly, these panels are front panel programmable. Have you tried programming with the keypad yet?

It’s on the latest firmware revision, 7.00.16

The panel is slightly keypad programmable, sync options or nac mapping is not programmable through the keypad.

Oh that’s unfortunate. Is it the same way on the SK 6700 as well or is this only a Farenhyt limitation?

Yeah it’s the same way on the 6700, you need programming software to do mapping. But unlike the Farenhyt series, silent Knight isn’t proprietary

Lol yeah I’m glad the IntelliKnight panels aren’t proprietary. I’ve heard the IFP-50 (older, basically the 5700) needs a dongle which was the only thing stopping me from buying one. It makes me wonder why someone would even purchase a Farenhyt panel because from what I’ve seen, they offer the same features as IntelliKnight panels, but they’re proprietary. Pretty stupid imo

Only reason I could see someone getting Farenhyt over SK is because of the extra points, other than that I’m not sure

Fair, that’d make sense for the new ones but not the older ones.
