Hi there again, I am really hoping to see if anyone can help me out with the software issue I’m having with my FCI Gamewell fire alarm control panel. I have an older software meant for this panel but any cable meant for the panel I try, I have no luck. I even tried Windows XP VM. I believe my pinout is correct on the DB9 to RJ11 connector as I followed the wiring diagram pinout sheet with the correct part numbers for the cable and connector for this panel. Would newer software work? Would any other programming cable work? Please feel free to let me know as I would really love to get the software working for this panel. Thank you so much in advance!
Panels and PCs don’t like to mix lol.
I’d double check the pinout on your cable, or check the baud rate, stop bits, etc of the serial communications.
Not sure if it matters with your programmer’s version, but some versions require a dongle to download to the panel.

I deeply apologize on my lack of knowledge when it comes to this portion of computer technology, but what exactly is a programming dongle? I assume you can purchase them on Amazon? Are they easy to find? Any advice on these or if I can even get one to make my FCI Gamewell programming software to work correctly would be great! Thank you much in advance!

Just realized what a programming dongle is, looks hard to get for this panel.

You could find one on eBay. They are NOT cheap.
