About a week ago I won a small alarm lot off eBay that included a Federal 450E (older SelecTone style). I can’t find a voltage rating on it anywhere, and the only info I can find is on the current 450E and it didn’t come with any paperwork. Anyone know they’re 12 volt or 24 volt or happens to have a copy of the instillation manual? Everything else has voltage clearly marked on the tag as expected (all 24 volt)

Yes, it says Columbus OH instead of University Park IL.

Just to be safe, I would try 12 Volts DC first, if nothing happens it’s probably safe to assume that it’s 24 Volts DC, however if it makes a clunking noise it’s AC. You Always want to try it first on DC, because if you do it on AC first and it’s a DC horn, it will fry the poor fellow. After making certain it is not 12 Volts DC you can try 24 Volts DC.
