All metal 2W, 25V speaker. Pretty sure the Simplex 4090-91 is based off of either this, or a similar Federal Speaker.
I’ve been searching for a 70V version of this speaker! I think it would look pretty cool on a 2903 on my 4100ES.
Older speakers like this are harder to find in 70V configurations. I guess 25V was much more prevalent on older audio systems!
I do believe that’s the first Federal Signal life safety (or at least fire alarm) device I’ve seen with the company’s 1971-1975 logo! Great find! Does it work? (hope it does)
It does work, although with my current amplifier setup (a cheap headphone amplifier), it is very quiet (although other 2W speakers are louder using the same setup). You also inadvertently dated the thing for me, as I had no clue when Federal Signal used that logo (Although I assumed 70’s).
