Why We’re Having This Discussion
Discourse, which is the software our forums run on, is focusing on a new theme “Horizon” which already has a couple new features such as high context cards that are not currently available in the current theme. While I don’t expect Discourse to ever completely remove the current theme (You can still switch over to the “Discourse Classic” them in your user preferences!) nothing lasts forever, and at some point in the near future I intend to set the default theme over to Horizon.
You will always be able to turn your theme back to an old version if you don’t like it
While these forums, and the format of forums in general, are somewhat considered ‘legacy’ I do want to do what I can to keep them modern enough that younger generations will continue to use the forums for years to come.
