What is your plan for the future regarding fire alarms?
The following is a list of goals I have for my hobby:
Within the Next Year:
Purchase my first panel (Likely an MS-2 or MS-4).
Create a small hobby system, with a pull station, smoke detector, and one or two N/A’s.
Become active on my YouTube channel, with regular system test videos.
Purchase new devices, of course!
Eventually:
Purchase an addressable panel.
Expand my hobby system and mount devices around my garage.
Voice-evac???
Those are my goals at this point in my life, which could of course change for various reasons.
Interesting idea. I’ve had some sorts of plans now that I’ve acquired a control panel.
This year:
Set up a demonstration system, and film a series of system tests.
Perhaps dedicate my Netscape128 channel to alarms and possibly change the channel name, as I have a channel (Robert Aslin Music) dedicated to my musical endeavors.
Within a few years:
Graduate college with my degree in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology and secure a position in the industry.
This year: Hopefully pass my technicians test, get a job in the industry. I hope if I am allowed to, I would also want to start recording any bell tests that I do on rare systems, there are a few of them around my city.
Within the next few years: Set up an actual system, try and collect as much rare alarms as I can get.
