Here’s an announcement I made in a real building during an inspection. System is a Kidde VS4 with a GE Evax panel, panel was upgraded from a Mirtone 2. Speaker strobes are Mirtone branded, Kidde Siga2 smokes and Kidde rebranded Siga 278s everywhere (not sure what their actual model number is). Is there an actual difference? (if so I’m not aware of it. Let me guess though: that had to do with Siemens’ acquistion of Cerberus Pyrotronics & by extension Faraday, thus depriving Simplex of the horn mechanisms they needed for their electromechanical 4903s)
Yea! The 1994 horns tend to sound bad most of the time possibly due to age & components
