Fire Alarm museums

Hi, I am interested in starting a fire alarm museum/archive but, I don’t know where to start does anyone have advice?

I have some rare stuff to contribute

I’m afraid such a museum would be too niche for most people to be interested in (& thus good luck staying in business). I’ve been to a firefighter’s museum that had a small alarm display though: that might be more interesting to the general public.

that would be awsome!

I think I am still going to try.

Some cities have fire museums with vintage alarm systems from old buildings, such as the Western Reserve Fire Museum in Cleveland. I also found one in Pennsylvania that has an extensive collection of building fire alarm systems, which I forget its name.

Ok PM me for the pictures

Similar to what Carson said, there isn’t really a demand for a fire alarm museum, so one may not be a very successful, and could end up being a waste of time.

That being said, you could try to incorporate other aspects of fire protection, such as suppression, etc into it. At the hall of flame museum in Phoenix; they have a small display of fire alarms.

There you go: like I said there are firefighting & fire protection museums that are more general, which include fire trucks, firefighting equipment, turnout gear, etc., in addition to fire detection & alarm system components.

“Hall Of Flame”, heh, clever.

This musume is gonna be online

Well still: don’t expect too many visitors.

I’m sure some people will visit the museum, it will most likely be younger enthuisasts that want to look at rare alarms and learn the model numbers and brands. I’ll promote it on discord ( when it’s finished )
